Hokusai11 Koishikawa(小石川) after snowfall / Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (富嶽三十六景) by Katsushika Hokusai

Koishikawa is a name of a place of the downstream region in Koishikawa-river that flows in Bunkyo Ward today.

This figure is thought to be a view from the restaurant in the vicinity of Denzu-in Temple.

In Hokusai's "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji ", it is the only snow scene.

The town in Edo completely changed into the silvery landscape because of the snow that piled in the night.

Also around in Koishikawa, this restaurant where the view is especially good is crowded with guests who came to see snow since the morning.

Three birds flying in the direction that the woman indicates are expressing the depth of the space and magnificence in Mt. Fuji.
